What is This?

" IT'S A "HILLBILLY"

This was another email that impressed me.

My Parents told me about Mr Common Sense early in my life and told me I would do well to call on him when making decisions.
I seems he was always around in my early years but less and less as time passed by until today I read his obituary.
Please join me in a moment of silence in remembrance for Common Sensehad served us all so well for many generations

OBITUARY

COMMON SENSE

Today we mourn the passing of a beloved old friend, Common Sense,
who has been with us for many years.
No one knows for sure how old he was since his birth records were long ago lost in bureaucratic red tape.

He will be remembered as having cultivated such valuable lessons
such as knowing when to come in out of the rain, why the early bird
gets the worm, life isn't always fair, and maybe it was my fault.

Common Sense lived by simple, sound financial policies ( don't spend morethan you earn) and reliable parenting strategies ( adults are in charge).
His health began to deteriorate rapidly when well intentioned but overbearing regulations were set in place. Reports of a six year old boy charged with sexual harassment for kissing a classmate; teens suspended from school for using mouth wash after lunch; and a teacher fired for reprimanding an unruly student, only worsened his condition.

Common Sense lost ground when parents attacked teachers for doing the job they themselves failed to do in disciplining their unruly children. It declined even further when schools were required to get parental consent to administer Aspirin, sun lotion or a sticky plaster to a student; but could not inform the parents when a student became pregnant and wanted to have an abortion.

Common Sense lost the will to live as the Ten Commandments became contraband;churches became businesses; and criminals received better treatment than their victims.Common Sense took a beating when you couldn't defend yourself from a burglar in your home and the burglar can sue you for assault.

Common Sense finally gave up the will to live, after a woman failed to realize that a steaming cup of coffee was hot. She spilled a little in her lap, and was promptly awarded a huge settlement.
Common Sense was preceded in his death by his parents, Truth and Trust;his wife Discretion; his daughter Responsibility; and his son Reason.
He is survived by three stepbrothers; I know My Rights, Someone Else is to Blame, and I am a Victim.
Not many attended his funeral because so few realized he was gone.
If you still remember him pass this on. If not, join the majority and do nothing.

Margaret, this is a very good e-mail you got hold of. I know you are missing poor old Common Sense too.

That Mr. Someone Else is to Blame fellow built our house.
Our hot water heater is in the attic and it was rusting out. So we had to replace it and did that yesterday.
They had come before but it wouldn't go through two doors to get it to where it could be raised to where it belonged.
So we had to take the doors out. While the doors were out we decided to put in larger doors so the next hot water heater would go easily to where it needed to be.

I was upset at our builder for putting in doors too small to get through with the heater.

Well Mr. Someone Else is to Blame said it wasn't his fault, it must have been in the plans like that.

We couldn't get to our plans so I said nobody should put that large a hot water heater up there or the plans should be changed.

Then Mr. Someone Else is to Blame said it was his carpenters' fault, they just did what it said.

I told Mr. Someone Else is to Blame yes, but he should have picked up on this, it was his fault.

Of course Mr. Someone Else is to Blame said no.

So I am paying Mr. Someone Else is to Blame's carpenters $650 to take the old doors out and put new ones in.

I'm sorry too, that Common Sense is gone. I have already missed him in other instances because of his replacements.

Hi again Margaret ~~ Thank you for your comment and kind words and I am
so glad that you were pleased with your award. Peter used to put mine on for me, but finally taught me how to do it myself. Take care, my friend, Love, Merle.

Gidday Margaret,

Thanks for dropping by my blog.
I must admit common sense has certainly (like they used to say "Elvis has left the building") and this too has certainly left the building and everywhere else.
Great to see that your blog is now up and running. 'Tis good to see your posts again.

Those step brothers are the worst!!
No wonder common sense has been so hard to find lately. He died!

That HillBilly photo is funny. It is also ugly.

I hope all is well with you, Margaret.

Hi Margaret,

Stopped by to say "Hi."

Love the Hill Billy picture! Haha.

Yes, Common Sense seemed to have passed away, unfortunately. And Sunday Clothes is so cute. I think I read that on dear Merle's blog as well

I have been enjoying your posts. Nice to have found you.

Best wishes to you!

Renie
