Old Folks

We are having some wonderful rain here again at Caloundra, I believe by
tonight's news that it has been pretty wide spread, that is a good thing.
We had a storm just on dusk that was not too wild but brought good heavy rainfall.

I have had a good day at work, came home and sat to balance the budget,
and pay the bills. That is always good for a laugh! I did my shopping yesterday
after work, put fuel in the car, booked it in for a service Friday.
I thought it long over due, my son who died last Christmas always serviced my
car for me. Came home and put the shopping away then cooked dinner.

I cooked myself a chicken stir fry with noodles for my dinner this evening,
no particular recipe just a one off work in progress from beginning to end.
It turned out very well, I have plenty left over for tomorrow 's dinner, this is
good as I am working later and will just be able to do a heat up.

I watched the interview with Terry Irwin which was heart rending.
She is a very brave and focused lady, I have always admired her greatly,
but never so much as tonight. Well I think that is enough rambling
for the moment so until next time ,take care everyone.

Old folk are worth a fortune, with silver in their hair,
gold in their teeth, stones in their kidneys, lead in their feet
and gas in their stomachs.

We have all become a little frivolous with age;

I am seeing five gentlemen every day.
As soon as I wake up,"Will Power" helps me out of bed.
Then I go to see "John"
Next it's "Uncle Toby" followed by"Billy Tea".
They all leave and "Arthur Ritus" shows up, he stays
for the rest of the day.
He doesn't stay in one place for long. He takes me from joint to joint.
After such a busy day I'm really tired and glad to go to bed
with "Johnny Walker".

What a life!

Oh yes, I forgot to mention,
I'm also flirting with " AL Zheimer".

She can't swim a stroke but she knows every dive in town.
She has a sunny disposition and a shady past,
She'll scream over a mouse but gets into a convertable
with a wolf.
She lost her last job through sickness, her boss's wife
got sick of her.

Political Acrobats.

He's full of promises that go in one year and out the other.
He stands for what he thinks people will fall for.
There's no doubt he is doing something about hidden taxes.
He hides them better!
He's moving to an area where the poulation is more dense
( from the neck up)
His political plums did not grow from seeds, they're the result
of clever grafting.

Just as he is about to make both ends meet something
breaks in the middle.
He repaired his own cuckoo clock, now it backs out
and asks the time.
When the bookies house burned down, the only thing
the police were able to save were his IOUs.

Order of the day

"Rise!" says my brain to my body,
To greet this splendid day!
Fling back the quilt with abandon,
Forthwith without delay! "

"Bound out of bed with vigour! "
My brain is quick to decree....
While my body burrows down deeper,
And sleepily asks, "Who, ME???"

I have planted a garden.
So I know what faith is.
I have seen birch trees swaying in the breeze,
So I know what peace is.
I have listened to the birds caroling,
So I know what music is.

I have seen the morning without clouds after a shower,
So I know what beauty is,
I have read a book beside a log fire,
So I know what contentment is.

And because I have perceived all these things,
I know what wealth is.

If I want it it's mine.

If I give it to you, then change my mind later,it's mine.

if I can take it away from you it's mine.

If I had it a little while ago it's mine.

If it's mine, it will never belong to anyone else, no matter what!

If we are building something , all the pieces are mine.

If it looks just the same as mine it's mine.

If I were standing to be judged
Before the great white throne.
Where I could hear the righteous sing,
And here the sinners moan,
I'll want no greater advocate
To make my final plea,
Than just..... well, someone who would say
He did a lot for me

Hi Margaret. Wasn't the interview with Terri Irwin heartbreaking. I sobbed all the way through. I wonder if we get to see the Barbara Walters interview as well.
Have a wonderful weekend.
Take care, Meow

Hi Margaret. I'm sometimes (?) a little dense but I can't figure out who "Uncle Toby" and "Billy Tea" are.
I met Donovan Tea last night. I didn't know who he was before either.
